Mumbai: One amongst leading integrated steel producers, Essar Steel launched its new revolutionary wood-finish steel products for the Indian markets. The products, ensuring to serve as effective alternatives for the wood laminates, will be used for interiors and are manufactured at the company’s Pune facility.
Essar Steel through its recent product addition aims to tap the opportunities not just from the metro and tier-I cities but also from the rural markets. Additionally, the products recycleable ability makes it further environment friendly. The other features assured by the wood-finish steel products are the high resistance to termite concerns, easy maintenance and light weight.
“These products are an alternative for laminates with unique features and are cheaper by 20%. We expect to capture at least 10% of the market share in the current fiscal,” said Mitesh Shah, CEO, Pune facility, Essar Steel.
The company currently has a production capacity of 400,000 tonnes of color coated products and with the recent product addition has complete range of products required for pre-engineered buildings. The current product range involves coloured roofing products, colour products for wall, ceiling, furniture and doors.
